How I Paint a Portrait Using Only the Transon Brush Set

🎨 Intro – Brush Kit Overview

The kit I’m using today is the Transon 10 piece Paintbrush kit, which is perfect because it has a flat brush. which is perfect for laying down color really smoothly.

🟫 Step 1 — Base Layer

I’m starting off with laying a base color of burnt sienna and then drawing a light sketch on top of it.

🖌 Step 2 — Building the First Layers

Throughout this process, I’m continuing to use the Transon flat brush to create base shapes and base layers for creating the portrait.

🎨 Step 3 — Adding More Colors

After laying down the basic layers of burnt sienna,
I start using different colors, such as incorporating red and blue and green into my colors to create more interest and depth.

🌑 Step 4 — Deepening Values

After a couple layers I start deepening my values by mixing burnt sienna and blue to create a really dark value, and I start putting those darker values on the hair, on the eyes and other areas.

✨ Step 5 — Adding Highlights

Finally, using the smaller Transon brushes,
I put a few highlights in the hair and in the face, and these brushes stayed sharp and didn’t shed at all,
so it really let me focus on creating the artwork with good quality brushes.

🖌 Step 6 — Brush Control & Final Shaping

The whole variety of brushes provided by Transon gives me so much control while painting these portraits, and I can get these crisp lines for details and these broader lines for overall shapes.

🎨 Step 7 — Artistic Freedom

And so these brushes really let me create the type of portrait that I want to create with a different variety in designs.

🌟 Final Reveal

And here’s the final piece—
